Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortés

Known locally as Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Cortés.

Commercial registration in Honduras is framed by the Ley de Propiedad, Decreto 82-2004, which created the Instituto de la Propiedad as a body of the Presidency of the Republic and brings its registries together as a unified system that includes the Registro Mercantil, covering empresas mercantiles. Article 389 of the Código de Comercio obliges business owners to register, and official guidance states that the procedure is carried out at the chamber of commerce and industry of the municipality or city where the company will operate, with payments made through the channels the Instituto de la Propiedad authorises.

The Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Cortés, a public-law entity recognised by the State with its own legal personality and founded in 1931, is seated in San Pedro Sula and operates a Centro Asociado del Registro Mercantil. Registration covers the corporate and individual owners of mercantile enterprises, together with establishments and vessels, and the legal facts and relations the law specifies.
