About the register

Public Registry of Commerce

Known locally as Registro Público de Comercio.

Commercial entities in Mexico are recorded in the Registro Público de Comercio (RPC), which is in the charge of the federal Secretaría de Economía and operates under the Código de Comercio through a single electronic platform, the Sistema Integral de Gestión Registral (SIGER). Registrable acts are submitted by notaries and commercial brokers (notarios and corredores públicos), and each entry sits under the registry office (oficina registral) in the relevant state within the national system. On first inscription a company is assigned a folio mercantil electrónico (FME), the number under which its later acts are recorded, and SIGER 2.0 offers public consultation of folios and issues certificates.

The incorporation instrument is the core public record. Under Article 6 of the Ley General de Sociedades Mercantiles, the escritura or póliza constitutiva must state the names, nationality and domicile of the persons constituting the company, together with its purpose, name, duration, capital and domicile, and the instrument is inscribed in the RPC.

Corporate notices are published separately through the Sistema Electrónico de Publicaciones de Sociedades Mercantiles (PSM), also operated by the Secretaría de Economía and free to consult. Publications include notices of entries in a company's share and partner registers with the current structure, made under Articles 73 and 129 of the LGSM, and dissolution and liquidation documents.

Are these official records?
Yes. Every record is sourced from the official register, Registro Público de Comercio, at the moment you buy. It is registry data only — nothing aggregated, resold, or editorialised.
What exactly is a "Company Record"?
Two things in one purchase: the KYB report (company data, controlling parties, shareholders and beneficial owners) and the standard set of official registry documents needed for AML and KYB compliance.
Can I get additional filing documents?
Every record includes the standard document set for AML and KYB compliance. If you need a document beyond that set, contact us and we'll find out whether the register holds it.
Can I get shareholders and beneficial owners?
Yes. This register publishes shareholder and beneficial-owner data, and the record includes it with the ownership chain resolved. The chain is our own work: registers file shareholdings, not the resolved ownership behind them.
How current is the information?
It is retrieved from the register at the time of purchase, so it reflects the register's current state — not a cached copy.
Do I need a subscription or a contract?

What is a folio mercantil electrónico (FME)?
It is the electronic folio number that SIGER assigns to a company or merchant on inscription in the Registro Público de Comercio. All subsequent registered acts are recorded against that folio, and a public search in SIGER returns the FME, the company name and the registry office where the folio is held.
Does the Registro Público de Comercio show shareholders?
The registered incorporation instrument does. Article 6 of the Ley General de Sociedades Mercantiles requires the escritura or póliza constitutiva to state the names, nationality and domicile of the persons constituting the company, and that instrument is inscribed in the RPC. Notices reflecting the current share or partner structure are published through the PSM under Articles 73 and 129 of the LGSM. The Company Records report for Mexico includes the incorporation filing as the register holds it.
What is SIGER?
The Sistema Integral de Gestión Registral is the Secretaría de Economía's electronic platform for the Registro Público de Comercio, handling capture, storage, consultation and transmission of registry information. Public users can register directly in SIGER 2.0 to run consultations, request certificates and validate documents.
Where do Mexican companies publish corporate notices?
In the Sistema Electrónico de Publicaciones de Sociedades Mercantiles (PSM), operated by the Secretaría de Economía. Companies publish there with an e.firma electronic signature, including share-register notices under Articles 73 and 129 of the LGSM and dissolution and liquidation documents, and public consultation of the publications is free.
