Official company records for Georgia, on demand

Companies in Georgia are registered in the Registry of Entrepreneurial and Non-entrepreneurial (Non-commercial) Legal Entities, maintained by the National Agency of Public Registry under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. Under the Law of Georgia on Entrepreneurs, registration of an entrepreneur is mandatory and entails both state registration and tax registration, and the registration authority sends the registered data electronically to the Revenue Service.

Registry data is public. Under Article 13 of the law, any person may look through the registered data and obtain an extract, which is prepared from the Registry together with the registries of public law restrictions, tax liens and mortgages, movable and intangible property rights, and debtors. Records and scanned archival documents are searchable through the agency's online portal by name, identification code or legal form, searches run in Georgian, and an English-language extract is prepared together with any service for an additional fee.

On ownership, under Article 8(3) only a partner or founder of a general partnership, a limited partnership or a limited liability company is registered with the Registry, and a limited liability company's instrument of incorporation states the partners' shareholdings as percentages of the capital. That partner data is the ownership information the register publishes.
