About the register

Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs, and Public Organizations

Known locally as Єдиний державний реєстр юридичних осіб, фізичних осіб-підприємців та громадських формувань.

Legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and public organizations in Ukraine are recorded in the Unified State Register kept under Law of Ukraine No. 755-IV of 15 May 2003 on state registration. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is the holder of the register and takes the organisational measures that keep it functioning. The law declares the register's information open and generally accessible, excepting taxpayer record card numbers and passport data, and provides free access to core current data through the portal of electronic services, searchable by an entity's full or abbreviated name or its identification code.

For a legal entity the register records the name, the identification code in the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine (the EDRPOU code), the legal form, and the list of founders (participants), subject to exceptions the law sets for certain forms such as joint-stock companies. It also records information on the ultimate beneficial owner, including the ultimate beneficial owner of a founder that is itself a legal entity: the name, date of birth, citizenship and identity document details, together with the entity's ownership structure.

An extract (vytiah) is a paper or electronic document generated by the register's software against the requester's criteria, containing register data current at the moment of the request or at a defined date. Can I get shareholders and beneficial owners?
Yes. This register publishes shareholder and beneficial-owner data, and the record includes it with the ownership chain resolved. The chain is our own work: registers file shareholdings, not the resolved ownership behind them.
How current is the information?
It is retrieved from the register at the time of purchase, so it reflects the register's current state — not a cached copy.
Do I need a subscription or a contract?

What is an EDRPOU code?
It is the identification code of a legal entity in the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine, and Article 9 of Law No. 755-IV lists it among the data recorded for every legal entity in the Unified State Register. Register searches can be run on this code as well as on the entity's name.
Is information in the Unified State Register public?
Article 11 of Law No. 755-IV declares the register's information open and generally accessible, with taxpayer record card numbers and passport data excepted. Core current data is available free of charge through the portal of electronic services, public information from the register is released as open data, and extracts are issued in paper and electronic form.
Does the register record beneficial owners?
Yes. Article 9 of Law No. 755-IV requires the register to hold information on each ultimate beneficial owner of a legal entity, including the ultimate beneficial owner of a founder that is itself a legal entity, with exemptions defined in the anti-money-laundering law. The recorded details include the name, date of birth, citizenship and identity documents, and the register also holds the entity's ownership structure and notices of discrepancies found in filed beneficial ownership information.
What is a vytiah from the Unified State Register?
Under Article 1 of Law No. 755-IV, a vytiah (extract) is a document in paper or electronic form generated by the register's software according to the applicant's search criteria. It contains the register's data current at the moment of the request or at a defined date, or confirmation that the requested information is absent.
