Official company records for Turkey, on demand

The Turkish trade registry is a state registry of merchants and commercial enterprises. It is kept by trade registry directorates established within chambers of commerce and industry, currently 238 across the provinces and larger districts, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade on the basis of Article 24 of the Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102 and the Trade Registry Regulation. The records are public: anyone may examine the registry's contents and documents held by a directorate and obtain certified copies for a fee. Registry transactions run through MERSIS, the Central Registry Record System operated by the Ministry of Trade.

Registered matters are announced in the Türkiye Ticaret Sicili Gazetesi, the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette, published by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). The gazette's online service covers announcements from 1957 onward, which may be accessed, saved, printed and obtained as authenticated copies.

Beneficial ownership sits with the tax administration rather than the trade registry. Under General Communiqué on the Tax Procedure Law No. 529, published in the Official Gazette of 13 July 2021, entities report the natural persons holding more than 25 percent of their shares, or otherwise controlling them, electronically to the Revenue Administration, so that reporting is not part of the public trade registry record.
