Official company records for Jordan, on demand

Companies in Jordan are registered and supervised by the Companies Control Department (دائرة مراقبة الشركات), a department reporting to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply. It operates under the Companies Law No. 22 of 1997 and its amendments, with its administrative organisation set by Regulation No. 44 of 2003. The department registers new companies, receives legal amendments and financial filings, and administers liquidations, and its electronic portal provides services including company registration, amendments, financial data submission, certification services and company search.

Beneficial ownership is a filing obligation to the department. Under the Beneficial Ownership Registry Regulations No. 62 of 2022 (نظام سجل المستفيد الحقيقي رقم 62 لسنة 2022), companies registered in the Kingdom complete a company registry form, a register of partners and shareholders, and beneficial-owner disclosure forms, submitted to the Controller at registration and kept by the company. Changes affecting the beneficial owner must be reported within thirty days, and disclosures are refreshed at the start of each financial year. The beneficial owner is defined as the natural person who owns, or exercises ultimate effective control over, a company registered in the Kingdom, directly or indirectly.

Separate disclosure forms apply according to whether a company is owned or controlled by natural persons, by companies or legal arrangements, or by listed companies, and companies wholly owned by the government or under liquidation or bankruptcy are exempt from the beneficial-owner form.
