Company Enquiry service

Known locally as أستعلام عن الشركات.

Companies in Iraq are registered with the Companies Registration Department (دائرة تسجيل الشركات) of the Ministry of Trade, which operates under the Companies Law No. 21 of 1997 (قانون الشركات رقم 21 لسنة 1997). The department establishes national companies, opens branches for foreign companies operating in Iraq, and registers commercial agencies. Its files hold the company contract and its amendments, founding decisions and general assembly minutes, and the department records the changes made to company contracts over time.

The register's public face is the department's online enquiry service, أستعلام عن الشركات (Company Enquiry service). It publishes searchable lists by company class: simple companies, solidarity companies, limited companies, joint-stock companies, individual project companies, public companies, foreign companies and commercial agencies, together with separate lists for Iraqi and foreign companies in the Kurdistan Region and a list of archived companies (الشركات المؤرشفة). An enquiry accepts a full or partial company name entered without the word company, a file number (رقم الاضبارة), a certificate number (رقم الشهادة), or a personal name.
