Search Line is the name of the company-information source this page draws on for Iran; official company registration itself is administered by the State Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties (سازمان ثبت اسناد و املاک کشور), which operates under the Judiciary. Within the organization, the Directorate General for the Registration of Companies and Non-Commercial Institutions (اداره کل ثبت شرکت‌ها و مؤسسات غیرتجاری) is responsible for registering the forms of commercial company, including joint-stock, limited liability, general partnership, proportional and cooperative companies, together with non-commercial institutions and the branches of foreign companies, and for administering company naming nationwide.

Registration runs through the organization's electronic systems. The organization has presented a redesigned company registration system with automated name checking and fully electronic filing, reporting establishment times of about two days in the provinces where it had been activated, and has described the registration workflow as integrated with the official gazette. For the Iranian year 1401 (2022 to 2023), the organization reported the registration of 58,849 commercial companies and 7,154 non-commercial institutions.
