Official company records for Bolivia, on demand

Bolivia's commercial register, the Registro de Comercio, is administered by the Servicio Plurinacional de Registro de Comercio (SEPREC), the state registry service. SEPREC's own normativa pages record Decreto Supremo 4596 of 2021 as the instrument creating the service and setting its transition period, and the institution states its mission as guaranteeing transparency and legality in the Registro de Comercio of the Plurinational State of Bolivia through an efficient, accessible and reliable service.

The register covers Bolivian commercial actors from sole traders to state enterprises. SEPREC's published list of trámites includes the inscription of individual merchants and empresas unipersonales, sociedades de responsabilidad limitada, sociedades colectivas and sociedades en comandita, sociedades anónimas constituted by single act or by public subscription, mixed-economy and state enterprises, and companies constituted abroad, together with the renewal of the matrícula de comercio. Displaying the matrícula, the registration credential, in a visible place is an obligation of every merchant.

Official press notes record fully virtual procedures, a new company inscribed within 24 working hours when documentation is complete, and other commercial acts processed within 48 hours; between 2022 and August 2025 the service registered 59,230 new companies and processed 751,372 procedures. SEPREC's digital tools include the Oficina Virtual for filings and the Gaceta de Comercio.
