About the register

Hungarian Company Register (e-Cégjegyzék)

Hungarian company data is managed by the courts in their capacity as courts of registration. The Ministry of Justice (Igazságügyi Minisztérium) operates the Service of Company Information and Electronic Company Registration, through which the data of companies registered at any Hungarian court of registration is made available, so the register can be consulted from a single point regardless of which court holds the entry.

The business register records, among other particulars, the company registration number, name, registered office, branches, activities, share capital, tax number and any bankruptcy or liquidation status. When a court of registration publishes register data relating to a joint-stock company or a limited liability company, it also publishes the company's articles of association and any amendments in the Company Gazette.

The contents of the business register are accessible online free of charge through the company search at e-cegjegyzek.hu, with access to further content subject to a charge. The Company Records report for Hungary includes the registry extract sourced from the official register.
