Official company records for Faroe Islands, on demand

The Faroe Islands are, like Greenland, part of the Kingdom of Denmark, with home rule since 1948, but company registration follows a different path: Faroese companies are registered with Skráseting Føroya, the Faroese Company Registration Authority in Tórshavn, rather than through the Danish register. The authority was formed as a public body on 1 September 2008, when the Company Registration Authority was joined with the Faroe Islands National and International Ship Register.

Skráseting Føroya registers public limited companies, limited liability companies, corporate foundations, branches, savings banks and mutual insurance companies, together with certain partnership forms, and records all new registrations and all changes to already registered companies. It monitors compliance with the statutory demands attached to each form of incorporation, such as submitting annual accounts, and can have a non-compliant company stricken from the register. The register can be searched on the authority's website. When a company registers, the authority notifies TAKS, the Faroese tax administration, and the company receives a V-tal, which TAKS describes as comparable to a VAT number, for use in all communication with TAKS.

Since 1 February 2022, Faroese capital companies must register their owners, both legal and beneficial, with the authority; the official pages describe this registration duty and do not describe public access to those details.
