About the register

Public Register and Collection of Documents

Known locally as Veřejný rejstřík a Sbírka listin.

Czech companies sit in the veřejný rejstřík, the public register kept under Act No 304/2013 on public registers of legal and natural persons, with the obchodní rejstřík, the commercial register, as its business part. Registrations are made by the registry courts or, in some cases, by notaries, and the Ministry of Justice runs the online service Veřejný rejstřík a Sbírka listin at or.justice.cz, where searches are free of charge by name or identification number.

The identifier is the IČO, an eight-digit identification number that follows an entity across state systems, including the ARES register of economic subjects. Each entity's register entry, from which an extract (výpis) can be taken, is paired with the Sbírka listin, the collection of documents: ordinary, extraordinary and consolidated financial statements, the účetní závěrka, must be deposited there, and since 1 January 2014 documents for the collection are filed electronically as PDFs. Electronic extracts are free; a charge arises only for paper copies.

Beneficial ownership access changed on 17 December 2025, when the Ministry of Justice closed the evidence skutečných majitelů, the register of beneficial owners, to the public. Search functions remain, but the data now goes only to registered entities, public authorities and obliged persons on request. Company Records resolves beneficial ownership by following registered shareholders up the ownership chain in official filings, so the register's closure does not prevent UBO identification. The Company Records report for the Czech Republic provides a registry extract, with filings such as the účetní závěrka available as filing documents.

What exactly is a "Company Record"?

Can I get additional filing documents?

Can I get shareholders and beneficial owners?
Yes. This register publishes shareholder and beneficial-owner data, and the record includes it with the ownership chain resolved. The chain is our own work: registers file shareholdings, not the resolved ownership behind them.
How current is the information?
It is retrieved from the register at the time of purchase, so it reflects the register's current state — not a cached copy.
Do I need a subscription or a contract?

What is a výpis from the Czech public register?
A výpis is the extract of an entity's registered data, obtained through the Ministry of Justice service at or.justice.cz. A partial extract contains only the latest valid data, while a full extract reaches the historical entries, and electronic extracts are free of charge with fees only for paper copies. The Company Records report for the Czech Republic provides a registry extract sourced from this register.
What is the Sbírka listin?
The Sbírka listin is the collection of documents attached to the Czech public register, holding the papers behind the register entries. Ordinary, extraordinary and consolidated financial statements must be deposited in it, and since 1 January 2014 documents for the collection are filed electronically in PDF. The documents are consulted through the same or.justice.cz service as the register itself.
What is a Czech IČO?
The IČO is the eight-digit identification number assigned to Czech entities and used as the search key across official systems, from the public register at or.justice.cz to the ARES register of economic subjects. Entering an IČO returns one entity precisely, which makes it the cleanest way to pull the right record.
Is Czech beneficial ownership information public?
Not any more. On 17 December 2025 the Ministry of Justice closed the register of beneficial owners, the evidence skutečných majitelů, to the public. Search functions remain available without a login, but disclosure of the underlying data is limited to the registered entities themselves, public authorities and persons obliged under anti-money-laundering law on request. Company Records resolves beneficial ownership by tracing registered shareholders up the ownership chain, entity by entity, from official registry filings.
