Official company records for Bulgaria, on demand

The Bulgarian commercial register is maintained by the Registry Agency (Агенция по вписванията) under the Act on the Business Register and the Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities, which governs entries, maintenance, storage and access. The commercial register has functioned as a single, centralised electronic database since 1 January 2008, and the register of non-profit legal entities joined it on 1 January 2018. The register records traders and branches of foreign traders together with the circumstances that must be entered by law, and announces the acts that must be published by law.

The registers are in the public domain, and access to the database is open to everyone free of charge. Searches run on the Unique Identification Code (ЕИК) of the trader, branch of a foreign trader, non-profit legal entity or branch, among other criteria, through the Registry Agency's ЕПЗЕУ portal, its unified portal for requesting electronic administrative services.

Beneficial-owner circumstances are entered in the register itself. Data on the natural persons who are beneficial owners is filed under Article 63 of the Measures Against Money Laundering Act on the basis of a notarially certified declaration, using the dedicated B7 application form, and the beneficial owners section records their names, identification details, permanent addresses and the type and size of the rights held.
