About the register

Commercial and Movable Property Registry (Legal Affairs Bureau)

Known locally as Conservatória dos Registos Comercial e de Bens Móveis / 商業及動產登記局.

Companies in Macau are registered at the Commercial and Movable Property Registry (Conservatória dos Registos Comercial e de Bens Móveis, CRCBM, 商業及動產登記局), which also keeps the registers of automobiles, vessels and aircraft. The registry is a unit of the Legal Affairs Bureau (Direcção dos Serviços de Assuntos de Justiça, DSAJ, 法務局), the bureau named on this page, under the Secretariat for Administration and Justice. Its stated task is to publicise the legal status of commercial entrepreneurs and enterprises and so safeguard the security of legal dealings.

Since 18 January 2021 the registry has operated a free commercial registration information platform: by entering a registration number or a keyword, any person gets immediate access to a company's registration number, firm name, registered seat, business object, share capital, and the names of its administrators and the way they bind the company. Commercial registration certificates go further. Any entity needing proof of commercial registration may request one, in person at the registry's service points or online through the Macao One Account or the business and associations platform; paper certificates are issued within five hours of receipt, requests that also cover articles of association or archived documents are ready the next working day, and certificates used for notarial acts are valid for three months.

Certificates used for notarial acts are valid for three months.
Which laws govern commercial registration in Macau?
The Commercial Registration Code, approved by Decree-Law 56/99/M, together with the Commercial Code approved by Decree-Law 40/99/M. Under the Commercial Code framework described in official investment guidance, the common limited company form has at least 2 and at most 30 shareholders.
