Official company records for Liechtenstein, on demand

The Handelsregister des Fürstentums Liechtenstein, the commercial register of the Principality of Liechtenstein, is maintained by the Amt für Justiz, the Office of Justice, in Vaduz. Official register information is published through the register's own Firmenindex portal at handelsregister.li, where a partial extract (Teilauszug) of every registered legal entity can be viewed free of charge and a certified full extract (beglaubigter Vollauszug) can be ordered for a fee.

The range of legal forms on the register reflects Liechtenstein company law. Alongside the Aktiengesellschaft and the Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, it registers forms such as the Anstalt (establishment), the eingetragene Stiftung (registered foundation) and the eingetragene Treuhänderschaft (registered trust).

Beneficial ownership is held separately. Under the VwbPG, the law of 3 December 2020 on the register of beneficial owners of legal entities, entities must obtain their beneficial owners' details and report them to the Amt für Justiz in electronic form. That register is not open to the public: named domestic authorities may consult it for anti-money-laundering purposes, other disclosure runs through the Amt für Justiz, third parties must show a legitimate interest, and extracts from it carry no public faith.
