Official company records for Cook Islands, on demand

The Cook Islands companies register is kept by the Ministry of Justice, whose Registry Services division maintains the registers for companies, incorporated societies and personal property securities alongside the civil registers. The registries have run on a single online platform at registry.justice.gov.ck since December 2019, and the Ministry announced the commencement of the Cook Islands Companies Act 2017 together with that online registry. Overseas companies doing business in the Cook Islands were required to re-register under the new Act, and the Companies Regulations 2019 sit alongside it.

The registry provides online searching and registration of companies and incorporated societies. A public user without an account may run an Entity Search, and the details provided via the free public search are limited to entity name, status, type, registration number, date of registration and registered office address. Seeing the fuller entity record and the filings submitted against it requires a registry account and payment of fees.

International companies, international trusts, limited liability companies and foundations are registered separately with the Financial Supervisory Commission, which registers those entities through licensed trustee companies. Its Registrar may confirm an entity's name, date of registration, registration number, registered office and the administering trustee company's contact details, with further requests directed to the trustee company or, for competent authorities, to the Commission.
