Official company records for Tonga, on demand

Tonga's business register is run by the Ministry of Commerce, Consumer, Trade, Innovation and Labour (MCCTIL) through its online registry service at businessregistries.gov.to, which styles itself the Kingdom of Tonga Registry Service. The platform manages companies, business names and business licences, carries the foreign investor certification process, and hosts a personal property securities registry as a separate module. Filings for these business entities are submitted online only, paper filings are no longer accepted, and creating a client account is free.

Companies are governed by the Companies Act 1995, whose text the registry publishes on its own site. The basic entity search is free to all users and returns entity name, registration number, type of entity, status and registered office address, and for companies the search shows shareholders and directors, with business name searches showing owners. Account holders can additionally run a role search on a person's name, showing all entities with which that person is associated, and order documents including a Certificate of Good Standing, a long-form version adding current shareholder and director information, and a certified historical extract showing all current and historical information about an entity.
